Wouldn't It be Great If.....by Adam Coleman

by Adam Coleman Grade 6 Plaza Middle School

Wouldn't it be great if we could live without sickness and poverty. As we go to school and work each day, people suffer from disease and hunger. AIDS, cancer, homelessness, hepatitis and thousands of other things affect people everyday. One such person was a boy in school by the name of Ted Munson. Ted was born with problems physically but overcame them and strived to learn and do everything he could in his short time with us.

I personally never had the honor of getting to know Ted; I had only seen him in the hallway on my way to class and spoke to him sometimes. But, when I heard about Ted passing away, I felt as if we had been best friends. It scared and saddened me, but also inspired me. I was amazed that a person could go through so much and still be happy and smiling in the hallway. Ted is now free in a place with no pain. I realize how little time we have and I am going to use mine to the best of my ability and do whatever I can to succeed. We must all try to live our lives to the fullest because we never know when it can be taken away from us.
