France has denounced a recent Israeli decision to build 900 new housing units in Har Homa settlement in East Jerusalem.
The French Foreign Ministry said in a release that the Israeli decision would surely impede a negotiable solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
It reiterated France's firm and clear-cut position rejecting Israeli settlement whether in the West Bank or East Jerusalem as an obstacle to regional peace.
It called on Israel to reconsider this decision which it said would cause more tensions between both sides.
Israel had endorsed a plan to build 930 new settlement units in Jerusalem.
