Senseless Killing of UK Citizen in Mali Condemned

3rd June 2009

The Muslim Council of Britain condemns the cowardly and barbaric reported killing of the UK citizen Edwin Dyer by a suspected al-Qa'ida cell in Mali.

"This senseless murder of a wholly innocent tourist is unforgivable. There can be no possible justification for this appalling action. We very much hope that the perpetrators of this crime are apprehended and brought to justice swiftly," said Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain.
