Protect our sisters honour

O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e.screen themselves). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allâh is Ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful. 33:59

This an excellent resource and Muslim dentists and doctors should think of a similar project. Especially to protect the honour of the sisters. Frequently, using the word "neccessity" these serious problems are brushed under the carpet rather than, looking for a solution for the slaves of Ar Rahmaan (The Most Merciful). Who possess great honour and dignity, and are trying to preserve it. May Allaah make a way for them in every path. Ameen (Amen), Ya Rabal A`lameen (O Lord of the worlds).

Fathima (radiyallahu anhaa - may Allah be pleased with her) said: The most beloved thing to a beleiving woman is, she sees no non-mahrem (someone who is not an immediate relative of her, [an immediate relative meanining father, brother, uncle]) man and no non-mahrem man sees her (Majmauz Zawaaid Vol 9 Pg 202)

So what about the sisters that are stripped of that innocense and diginity given to them by Ar Rahmaan? Where are the men ? Where the soldiers of Allaah?)

Muslim Optician Network

This site was set up to meet the needs of the Muslim opticians' community, from students to the fully qualified, providing help and support along the way. We seek to provide information to the whole Muslim community regarding their eyesight, pointing them in the right direction regarding their ocular health.

Features of this site that may be off interest to you include:

- Muslim Optician Directory ; this includes a list of Muslim owned optician practises all over the UK, and a list of practises which have a FEMALE optometrist – which we’re sure will be invaluable for sisters who must find it uncomfortable having their eyes tested by a male.

- Health Care and Islam ; this includes a whole range of information from the importance of health in Islam, advice on ocular health, to advice from the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) regarding our eyes

- Muslim Contribution to Optics ; find out about the amazing impact Muslims have had on the world of optics, fascinating for all Muslims

Those who are in an optometry related field or studying in this area, will be interested in our student section, pre-reg section, optometric professionals section, jobs board (coming soon), and forums.
