THE GRAVE

At-Takathur | The CompetitionSura #102 | Makkah 1 The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 2 Until ye visit the graves. 3 But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality). 4 Again, ye soon shall know! 5 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 6 Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire! 7 Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight! 8 Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!). Al-Hajj | The Pilgrimage Sura #22 | Madina 5: O mankind! if ye have a doubt about the Resurrection, (consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a morsel of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed, in order that We may manifest (our power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then (foster you) that ye may reach your age of full strength; and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much), and (further), thou see the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs). 6: This is so, because Allah is the Reality: it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who has power over all things. 7: And verily the Hour will come: there can be no doubt about it, or about (the fact) that Allah will raise up all who are in the graves. 8: Yet there is among men such a one as disputes about Allah, without Knowledge, without Guidance, and without a Book of Enlightenment,- (Al-Hajj, Chapter #22, Verse #5-8) I went to a janaza on the weekend that was for my friends grandmother. At the masjid there was 2 prayers, 1 for the elderly sister, and 1 for a two day old baby. When we all got to the graveyard for the burial, there was a middle aged Muslim man being buried also....See how the angel of death does not discriminate with the order of Allah S.W.T... An elderly woman who lived a full life, a middle aged man, and a two day old baby.... When I was watching them being put in the graves I thought to myself that "the most frightening sound would be the thundering thump of the earth hitting the coffin as they covered me in the earth till the day of judgment." Surrah At-Takathur was running through my head over and over again, us chasing after wealth and success when the only guarantee in life is death, the sudden ending of pleasures. It really shook me up for some reason, wondering how can anyone deny Allah S.W.T. and his Messengers A.S. when there is such clear evidence and details about life and death. Just mentioning 1 of the many in Quran when Allah S.W.T. reminds us of our creation, one can only think "how could anyone from that time possibly know these thing which where just discovered through great scientific research in the last century, while the Quran has never changed in over 1400 years." I know its been a long one so ill leave it at that, and pray that Allah S.W.T. allows us all to live and die with iman while he is pleased with us, and give us the divine inspiration to prepare ourselves for the grave.
