Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): "Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allaah, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself…" [al-Nisa’ 4:79]
Allaah also says (interpretation of the meaning): "And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much." [al-Shoora 42:30]
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also said: "The extent of the reward will be in accordance with the extent of the trial. If Allaah loves a people, He tries them, and whoever is content will have contentment, and whoever is angry will have anger." (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 2320; Saheeh al-Jaami’, 2210)
Al-Tirmidhi (969) narrated that ‘Ali (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: "There is no Muslim who visits a (sick) Muslim early in the morning but seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him until evening comes, and if he visits him in the evening, seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him until morning comes, and he will have a garden in Paradise." Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.
with the changing of the seasons many people are getting sick, and with all the madness going on around the world these days people question and even blame Allah for these things, but none of us are perfect, and were are here to be tested and go through trials, so just say Al-hamdulillah, even if its just for the fact that the only working part of your body is your tongue to glorify Allah, then still it is reason enough to say Subhanallah.
Many rewards Allah has put in sickness, mercy from himself as he is often forgiving, the most merciful. Also, even for the persons who visit the sick have great reward and blessing, and you will find many hadiths to prove that....
